Our Mission
To support and enrich the lives of people who live with a disability, as well as their carers, families and the wider community through specialised care, flexible programs and a choice of services. We support our clients to reach their full potential by allowing them to pursue their interests and dreams without discrimination or segregation from the community life they deserve
About Us

Services
NDIS
The National Disability Insurance Scheme is the new national system people with a disability can use to access the services they need. Central to this system are the ideals of choice and control; this is reflected in the funding model which allows people with a disability to engage service providers of choice under an NDIS plan.
The NDIS is overseen by the National Disability Insurance Agency, which is the Commonwealth Statutory Authority for the sector. To find out how Waminda can benefit you under the new scheme, click the link below.
Since the NDIS was rolled out across the Western Downs in January 2017, the variety of options available to people with a disability has grown enormously. All ‘reasonable and necessary’ support is covered under the new model, with the aim of allowing people to live a full and normal life.
Waminda is NDIS registered to deliver 14 distinct forms of support. Support provision is determined by the programs and activities that you are approved for in your individual plan. See our list of activities and support programs below:
- Accommodation/tenancy
- Specialised Disability Accommodation.
- Plan Management
- Support Coordination
- Assist Personal Activities
- Assist-Travel/Transport
- Daily Tasks/Shared Living
- Community Participation
- Development of life skills
- Early childhood Supports
- Household Tasks
- Assistance with Animals
- Group/Centre Activities
- Specialist Support
- Assist-Life Stage Transition
For more information, check out the NDIS website here.
Support Co-ordination
Support Co-ordination is NDIS funding that is provided to support participants to make the most of their NDIS approval. NDIS participants work with Support Coordinators to determine how their funds will be spent and to find the providers that best meet individual need. The NDIS identifies the following three distinct tiers of support coordination:
- Support connection – is short-term assistance to source services and providers
- Coordination of supports – is a capacity building support that allows you to connect with and manage a range of supports. Unlike support connection, Co-ordination of supports is not time limited and is available throughout the duration of your plan.
- Specialist support coordination – is a specialist support service for more complex situations.
Plan Management
The NDIS offers a range of options of how your individual plan can be managed. Using a registered Plan Manager allows you to pass the responsibility of the financial and administrative control onto someone else, whilst still retaining the choice of service providers. Should you be seeking someone to manage your NDIS plan, why not give Waminda a call?
